Sioux City RAGBRAI® Festival Details – Historic Fourth Street, Downtown Sioux City
RAGBRAI® XXXVIII will start its journey in Sioux City on Saturday, July 24th, with a kick-off party hosted on Historic Fourth Street.
Because of the activities planned for the Historic Fourth Street district, several streets will be closed to through traffic prior to the festival.
General public access into the festival will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, 7/24. Admission into the festival area will require a RAGBRAI official registration wristband, or a Smash Mouth concert ticket, which will be exchanged for a Sioux City RAGBRAI wristband at one of several entrances. Wristbands can be purchased for $10 at the gate the day of the event.
Noon, Friday, July 23rd – 8am Sunday, July 25th Fourth St. from Jackson St. to Virginia St. will be closed. Jones St. from 3rd St. to 5th St. will be closed. Virginia St. from 3rd St. to 5th St. will be closed. *Full access will be available to the Promenade Movie Theater and the Riviera Movie Theater during the closure period. Theater-goers are encouraged to park on 3rd St., or in the Heritage or Discovery parking ramps. Parking ramps will be free beginning at 5pm Friday, July 23rd through the weekend.
8am Saturday, July 24th – 8am Sunday, July 25th Fourth St. from Virginia St. to Iowa St. will be closed. Court St. from 3rd St. to 5th St. will be closed.
In addition, the Larsen Park Road along the Missouri Riverfront will be closed at noon 7/23 through 8am 7/25 between the east entrance past Bev’s on the River, through the west entrance before the Argosy Casino. There will be full access to both Bev’s on the River and the Argosy Casino throughout the weekend.
Sioux City serves as the starting point for this year’s RAGBRAI, and served as the starting location for RAGBRAI the first time the ride was held 38 years ago. RAGBRAI is the largest and oldest bike touring event in the country, and is expected to draw more than 20,000 overnight visitors to Sioux City this summer.
